Marketing You Can Hear Today and Use Tomorrow

Toronto, Ontario Canada

The Ontario PGA Annual Trade Show - Two great sessions on Wednesday and Thursday afternoons.

The session was an in-depth review of how to brand and present your club. From careful consideration of your club and community demographics to the fine details of photography, colors, themes, brochures, advertising and traditional tools. This is the backbone of your image and perception of your club. Look good and feel proud. Extra attention was spent on how to create gang print to save thousands of dollars at the press.

The second session took all of the great information presented in session one and blended it for use in the more contemporary digital world. Old school rules still apply . . . clubs must present a quality of a brand ‘online’ or in the digital world just as they do on paper. Website design, screen savers, eData collection, customer service, eMail and eNewsletter plus outstanding reports and accountability dominated this session. This is the future of marketing and was an eye-opener for some.

Both PowerPoint Lectures as presented by John R. Johnson are here for your review and club staff use. What a great time in Toronto many thanks to you and the PGA.

Pacific Northwest PGA Annual Conference

Educational Program, Puyallup, Washington

NW PGA Presentation

An all new in-depth four hour lecture as presented by J2 Golf Marketing. This hard hitting session zeroed in on two of the most relevant subjects in marketing today.

  • Internet Marketing for Golf - Made Easy.
  • Creating Loyalty Through Branding and Preferred Golfer Programs

The Internet session was presented by Internet Veteran - Colin Goehring. An insiders look at how headlines, copy and offers can effect your eMail and websites. A special section was presented on Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and using Pod-Casts to your advantage. Direct and to the point - a solid presentation.

The second presentation was from award-winning John R. Johnson, founder of J2 Golf Marketing. His national speeches on marketing have always drawn rave reviews from Association managers and attendees. This presentation was a treasure-trove of facts, figures and a veritable snapshot of Seven course operations from across the country. Attendees saw first-hand how a POS system to record and track your customers, coupled with specific preferred golfer programs has impacted the bottom line of some clubs by over $300,000.

Great tips on creating a website to collect data, online tee time optimization, eMail communications and customer tracking were reviewed in class. Real Education that makes a difference - something every Pro can use.

Andy Mackimmie PGA Education Chairman said . . . "That was a fantastic presentation, and I appreciate you helping the local golf pros out once again. I'm always amaze d by all the different ideas and avenues you come up with to get our messages to the golfers - Thanks!"

"John's been speaking for us for 10 years now. He's an exceptional speaker that people really enjoy listening to. He's consistently been one of the highest ranked seminar speakers, year after year. John utilizes the newest technologies and shows how to develop highly practical golf marketing tools. His seminars are always very detailed and informative, consistently on the cutting edge."

Shayna Stinson, Conference Coordinator, Crittenden Golf Development Seminar

“John has taught a seminar for our members for four years. Our members have consistently ranked John as one of the top 10 (out of more than 100 speakers), usually a sellout. A Wealth of information and an excellent instructor. One of the most practical and well received seminar speakers we’ve had.”

Sarah Clopton, Curriculum specialist, GCSAA

Here's what PGA members are saying about this highly practical seminar:

"Very detailed. I'd like to have for two full days of your seminar materials. The examples were right on the money - John, the marketing materials you showed really hit the mark. Thanks for a great presentation."
Doug Westcott, Grayhawk Golf Club, Scottsdale, Arizona

"Thanks for the advertising seminar. The ads you helped us develop are really working. Your ideas on email advertising are terrific. We are sending you our complete advertising campaign and would like to have you consider putting together our entire marketing plan. The ads Colin helped us create continue to make money for us!"
Gary Pearce, Oak Creek Country Club, Sedona, Arizona

“I’ve been reluctant to spend any money advertising because I wasn’t sure how to track the response. I now understand how advertising potentially has no cost if it produces profit… in fact, it can be a great investment. My only disappointment with your seminar is that it wasn’t longer so we could steal more information!”
Scott Kolb, Gallagers Canyon, Kelowna, British Columbia

“The information was excellent. This will help me stop wasting my advertising dollars!
Jon Kukula, Surfside Golf Course, Seaside, Oregon

"I appreciate the new ideas about inexpensive and cost effective ways to market. This is a very new approach to advertising for me. Colin, your copy ideas are perfect for my clientele."
Bob Shuler, Peoria, Arizona

“This could be a two day Seminar, Great information!! Definitely a Seminar that should have been done a few years ago!! I wish I would have heard about you before!”
Nelson E. Snellenberger – Director of Golf/General Manager – Whiteford Valley GC - Michigan

“I learned how to make better use of my web site and eMail marketing. I know now to work more with my existing customers and Preferred Golfers.”
Mike Minto – General Manager – Davison CC – Michigan

“I picked up a lot about creating new ads for the club and promoting my own lesson program.”
Guy R. Samples – Golf Professional – Owosso GC – Michigan

“This Seminar was “Five Stars” – It was that good. It was informative and I learned new and better ways to promote myself and the club. The internet and eMail was excellent”
Perry M. Busse – Teaching Professional – Carl’s Golfland - Michigan
